The state rule-making meeting, being held September 11, 2014, (click here for details on how you can participate), is covering the enforcement of Smart Colorado-sponsored H.B. 14-1366, requiring that marijuana infused products sold in recreational retail marijuana facilities must be “clearly identifiable” from non-marijuana products once removed from original packaging. Diane Carlson will share the reasons that demarcating marijuana-infused food and household products is so important for youth safety.
This basic requirement of distinguishing marijuana products from all other products provides an important tool in the process of educating our children, teens, and the general public on whether marijuana is present in a certain candy, soda, or other product before it’s consumed, and to know whether the product is from a recreational retail outlet or a less-regulated source like a medical dispensary or the illegal black and gray markets.
