Colorado middle school students bring a pound of pot to school to sell. Chief of Police of the City of Florence expressed frustration that no one seems to be following state or local regulations when it comes to marijuana, and there is no enforcement. This is creating an increasingly dangerous environment and circumstances for local citizens and for children and teenagers.
Middle school students brought a pound of marijuana to sell at a school last week, said Florence Police Department Chief Mike DeLaurentis at Monday’s Florence City Council meeting.
He said the children got the marijuana from someone’s back yard.
“We’ve been experiencing more and more complaints of the grow operations in back yards,” he said. “People are not following the regulations set up by the state and the enforcement on it is virtually nill. We’d like the opportunity to make ordinances so we can enforce it, give the warning, instruct people on the requirements of keeping their grow operations away from the public, away from children and not making it accessible to people walking through the alley.” [Read More]
