Julie Dreifaldt joined Smart Colorado as the Donor Relations and Special Events Coordinator in April 2018. Smart CO is a citizen-led, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that formed after marijuana was legalized for adult use. Smart Colorado’s sole focus is to minimize unintended consequences for Colorado kids, as marijuana is increasingly commercialized and available. The organization has been the leading voice advocating for and securing important requirements to include: childproof packaging, marking of marijuana edibles, improved disclosures on labels, warnings, dosing and serving sizes, data collection on youth impacts, and ensuring tax revenues are allocated to better support Colorado kids, families and schools.

She serves on Cherry Creek School District’s Parent Information Network (PIN) Board and has volunteered extensively at all of her children’s schools over the years. Julie is passionate about advocating for Colorado kids and equipping parents to have THAT conversation.

Julie has worked in NYC, OH, CT and Denver in sales, ministry and child development. Julie now speaks locally to parents, trusted adults and school organizations about today’s marijuana and the impacts on kids.

Julie has her BA in History and English, is happily married, loves hockey, kids, cooking, tennis, NCAA football and hopes to survive the parenting of their three amazing teenagers.
